today was the first day of trout season in this part of Pennsylvania and what an absolutely gorgeous day! The sun was out, it was about 70 degrees, the trout were biting and nobody else was fishing!! I had the place to myself!!
I arrived at Clearshade creek about 7:30 AM. Fishing starts at 8 AM.
This was the first brook trout of the day. A nice 11 incher that was returned to the water.
I caught a total of 7 brook trout in the morning. 3 using the fly rod and 4 using the spinning rod with bait.
All of the trout were released back into the creek. About 11:30 AM, I decided to start a fire and cook some Italian Hot Sausage I brought along with me.
The trout quit biting in the afternoon so I called it a day. What a fantastic one it was!

Great pics! I agree, around here the streams were much less crowded than years past. I skipped opening day because I dislike crowds but after going for a ride and seeing a few of my favorite spots with few cars parked nearby, I was bummed I didn't go out lol.
