Daughters Youth Mentor Day

My daughter and her friend decided they wanted to fish at Whipple Dam state Park. We arrived and found a spot. While we waited for the 8:00am start time some Fish Commission personnel came by and talked with us and they handed them some "goodies" for the day. The girls had a great time fishing and enjoyed the day. They caught numerous fish and were treated to sightings of Beaver and Ospreys. After they were done we went back to camp and they took a nap. We had the fish they caught for lunch. I made a smoker grill and cooked them along with fried potatoes. They are already making plans for next Saturday.
Here are some pics:

That's great! We went up to Renovo and the water was way too high. Oh well camp was fun.

Mmm those brookies look good! What kind of goodies were the wardens handing out?? Lol just curious.

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

Re: Daughters Youth Mentor Day

psychobeagle12,

The goodies they gave out are in the last pic. I don't think they were wardens though.

I took coals from the wood stove and
I used cherry and birch chips that I chopped from the wood pile to smoke the fish. Boy were they really good.

Sweet man. That looks like a 100% complete day of fun! I like that place too. It's been a LONG time since I've been there. Couldn't find a better place to spend a day like that.
