Well decided to head out with my daughter about 10am. Wind/Temps were pretty bad but she was excited to go. Went to the only area pond I know of that doesn't have ice. A few people coming and going but didn't see a single fish caught.
Next we headed to The spillway at the Lackawanna State Park. My daughter lost a couple on live bait then switched over to a spinner. That did the trick. I made a couple casts as well and managed two. Putting them on the grill for supper. And yes I still have snow in my yard here .
On another note I have to relay something else I observed. There were three adults with a child fishing just above us. As soon as we started hooking into fish the adults started making "hero drifts" as I call them, floating baseball sized bobbers right down the stream in front of us. I didn't even see the child with them fishing, he just sat in a folding chair holding a rod. Also saw another guy catch a nice rainbow about 5lbs.
