just some info for anyone who might be thinking of going fishing at the park. make sure you have a boat. they have drawn the lake down a lot for some work they are doing. they are redoing the swimming area and rebuilding all the concession stands. getting a boat into the water might be a challenge as there is no water near the ramp. this work is being done until next year. this park is located in Indiana county.
i live about a half hour from the park. we try to get up there a few times each year. fishing is a bit rough without a boat. with all the rain weve had the lake should be back to normal levels. wind, are you from this area?
Last year was a mess out there after they lowered the lake, Did some damage to my boat trailer when launching the one trip, called it quits out there for the year after that. Was hard to navigate the lake with it being that low.
Ice fished there before when they lowered it to work on dam. Between tip-ups we went chasing muskrats with our buckets. Caught half a dozen of the demons as they popped out of their icy tunnels in the snow. Fun to watch them scramble back to safety.
