BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

Who makes your favorite and why?

I am not asking to get help with a decision as I have my favorite but rather wanting to have some good discussion!

You want me to put my ear to the ground? Listen for hoof beats? Look for broken twigs?

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

Well all I'll say is I managed to cut a control cable on my bow the Monday before our season started when broadhead shooting. I called every string maker I could find, all said 5-8 days. All except Vaportrail. They are the most expensive but they had a string at my house on Thursday. So they made it immediately and got it out to me and saved my season opener.

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

THREADZ Custom Strings--Jimmy Carter out of Princton, KY. Just ordered my 6th set of stings from him for my indoor dot bow. Uses Brownell string material and serves all the loops with serving material, rather than backserving the loops with string material. These strings don't stretch- I put over 2500 shots through one set on my 3D bow in 2012, nothing ever moved, not brace height, axel to axel, or peep. Put over 3500 shots through this years 3D bowstrings, again, nothing ever changes with them. Custom colors- $80.00 shipped to me in less that 4 days. I have his strings on my 3D bow, my indoor dot bow, my hunting bow, my son's 3D bow, his indoor dot bow, and next year on his hunting bow. I've used Winners Choice, America's Best, Bucknasty, 60X. THREADZ are the best!

Wishing I was at camp!

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

I use JBK strings myself....new BCY X material is the best thing going right now. have used vapor trail and while a good string....I prefer JBK over what I have used in the past.

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

I wouldn't say I have a favorite builder but my last strings were built by Ray Night on AT with XS2. XS2 material is awesome and wears great!

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

H&A Custom strings and Bullseye Custom strings both on AT.I ordered on Monday and was shooting them in on Thursday.Ridiculous quality from both builders and turnaround time was unreal.I got solid flo-green strings and cables on my Black Ops Bowtech Assassin.Sick looking rig.No peep rotation at all.Thats the number one thing I loomk for.

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

Been wanting to try 60x as well. I've heard good things and he's a PA er.

Definitely my next set will come from him.

Re: BOWSTRINGS!!!!!!

Just had my second set of 60x put on. Went with BCY 8190 material. Last set was on two years, with a little wear, but you'd expect some with a couple thousand shots at 80lbs. I did have a little stretch on the last set but nothing else.

Easy to order, quick to respond to questions, and like already noted, he is a PAer.

RIP Tuff 98-11, So many hunts, so many good times!
