TINKS CARBON STORAGE BAGS

This season I started using Tinks carbon storage bags to store my clothes, backpack, etc. I then place the bags in airtight totes.

Has anyone else here used the Tinks bags? If so, have you noticed a distinct odor to them? It doesn't smell bad but it sort of smells like plastic. I am a little concerned about this since the point of the bags is to help keep scent to a minimum. I was just curious if this is normal and to be expected or if mine are tainted, perhaps from keeping them in the original plastic packaging too long.

Re: TINKS CARBON STORAGE BAGS

I purchased a scent blocker face mask for this year, since the woods ate mine last year. It's odd, but it does have a funny smell to it, I washed it in DDW, but after two hunts, evenings, it stinks, of BO. I mean stinks. My other cheap mask doesn't retain odor like this one does.

Yes, I have detected any odor from carbon products and I don't see any great advantage to using them.

Yes, I have also noticed that all carbon products seem to have a mild distinct smell to them. The smell of the Tinks bags seems similar, not really offensive, just a little stronger.

Gunjack, I had the same thing happen with a pair of SL gloves last season. After getting them wet once or twice, they developed a real strong, almost moldy or sweaty smell. It seems to most noticeable when they were damp. I bought a new pair this year and they seem normal.

JCH, Happy Birthday! You still using these bags? I purchased a couple recently, but have not noticed the smell yet.

“did you get all that on camera sport?”

I put a couple of earth scent wafers in my bag. The deer never seem to notice me.
