Impressed

Made a couple purchases lately that I am very happy with. My climber was stolen last year(summit viper sd) so I needed another this season. Went with a Summit Titan this time. I have always loved summits but I noticed some improvements on this model that I really liked. First was the padding on the rails. No more zip ties holding the pads on, the pads cover 360 degress of the rail and attach with a zipper. Much nicer, dont slide around, no zip ties to break. Also the backback straps are much improved. They have some elastic to them and are quite a bit beefier and more comfortable. Cant wait to get out and sit in it.

Second, I bought some QAD Exodus broadheads. Ive been looking at these since last year and have always thought it was a great design. Having them in hand now I am blown away by these heads. I didnt realize until I got them home that the back of the blades actually go into the ferrule and down inside the arrow shaft. With that and the thickness of these blades i cant imagine this head being damaged by shooting a deer. They shot great for me and I imagine penetration will be excellent.

Re: Impressed

Hope you bought a tree stand lock also......

I prefer my kid hunt and fish rather than steal and deal,

Re: Impressed

Only scumbags steal treestands... I caught a guy stealing a ladder stand once. He actually took a pair of bolt cutters in there to cut off the lock... the rest of the story is classified... I doubt he will do that again..

Re: Impressed

I broke a blade on an exodus last year. Couldn't believe it happened, but it did. They're built like tanks.

I think I'm an alright guy, I think I'm alright

Re: Impressed

Did the head break on a deer? If so did you find the blade and can you explain where it broke? Not doubting it just curious.

Re: Impressed

Never got around to a good summit. My nearly 20 year old stand never saw woods over-night.
It was always carry in and carry out.

Confused a few thieves. "There was a tree stand on these deep in the woods trees. Somebody must have gotten to it first."
Yea, somebody got to it first.

Re: Impressed

I always pack in and out too. If I was going to leave it overnight I would stash it and not leave it hangin' on the tree. I also have the Titan, and I really like the extra room.

Re: Impressed

I certainly wont be leaving it unlocked again. And wont leave it at all during rifle. I dont see anyone during archery and have never had problems but rifle season was different.

I hit the deer in the spine, shooting almost straight down, hit one lung and the top of the heart. Somehow there must have been incredible torque on the one blade, I popped out/broke out from under the triangle tip, and partially bent down back over the shaft. The part inside the shaft stayed intact. I'd did mess up my insert threads when I screwed it out though. I had to use pliers to unscrew it.
