Now is the time to make sure everything is ready! I checked all the bolts on my treestands this afternoon to make sure nothing was loose...laundry will happen when I get back from North Carolina next week!

Bigfoot saw me but nobody believes him!

Yes it is time to feed the addiction. I glassed 3 bucks tonight feeding in an alfalfa field, and have been spending alot of time in Ohio scouting new area's.

The older I get the better I was.

Re: Gear prep

Got my bow back from the shop on Monday. New strings, cables, and 8 new arrows. The thing is shooting bullet holes through paper. Nothing better than a well tuned bow !
Getting pumped !

yep, nows the best time to see whats in an area with bucks feeding in the feilds in the evenings. easy to "road scout" a new area, at least in the areas i hunt. all the gear can wait, i want to know what i'll be hunting & where.

Re: Gear prep

Still tuning the bow and running cameras. I won;t set stands until the first of September. Stands needing the most trimming will go in first.

To early to be washing the clothes and putting them in a bag. In my opinion, having your clothes set in a air tight bag for the next two months is not good. Mine would be sitting in the basement, so not getting any air on them will cause them to get that musty smell being closed up that long.

Clothes get washed the weekend before the opener, aired out a few days and in the container a few days prior.
