I don't think, given todays string composition and technology, that you need to relax any of the limbs on either compound or crossbows. Years ago when strings were more prone to stretch, we did it, and the results were usually we had to get the bow retimed to shoot right anyway. I would say that as long as you store your bow in a constant temperature and humidity, you are fine.
