Having some problems with my peep sight...
So, after last Christmas, I bought my first bow -- a Bowtech/Cabela's Instigator. Nice little bow. At first, the peep seemed to be twisted around a little bit -- it would keep creeping around, and rotating so that, at full draw, it wouldn't be 'wide open' so that I could look through it. Folks told me to just keep using it, and it would come around. It did.
I've been practicing all year, and I've had it in the field. After a little 'incident' last weekend (while rotating in my seat to keep facing a doe I was waiting to get a good shot on, I either tapped the release with my glove or my string arm just lost it and I let the bow down, fast -- practical upshot was that my arrow impacted a tree immediately in front of me (just about close enough that, with the bow at rest, the broadhead almost touched the tree trunk), releasing from the string and driving the nock into the arrow, trashing it), I've noticed that the only thing that's 'different' about the bow is that I'm having the peep sight problem again. The peep is now rotated; typically, when I draw, I'm looking at it at 90 degrees from where it should be (it looks like a line rather than an open circle, if that makes any sense).
It fires just fine -- took it out to the range, and I'm doing great. But, now, I have to sit and twist the peep 180 degrees and hold onto it a little bit, and then, when I let go and draw, the peep is oriented correctly for that shot.
Is this normal? How do I fix it? Have I done anything to the bow that I need to take to the shop and get fixed?
