Bow Scale

Can anyone recommend a decent bow scale? I am not confident in the one I'm using now. It's one of those that you pull back and it has a slider.

Re: Bow Scale

I only like those slider scales for my trad bows. They don't seem to work that great for compounds. I have a digital scale I got on Amazon cheap that matches the weight at the bow shop pretty close. Think I paid $10-15 for it. Sorry I can't post a link.

Re: Bow Scale

From my experience scales are for a reference point only. When I shot IBO you were allowed 5 gr. of arrow weight per # of draw weight and you were checked. Rarely did the scales at the shoot exactly match our scale at the shop and checking at different shops usually gave a range of + or - a couple pounds. The slide type scales were almost always off from the spring type pulldowns I tried. The same applys to chronys. I went to an ASA shoot once were one of our local pros was DQ'ed for being over the speed limit at the shoot on Sat. when he was legal according to their chrono at home on Friday.

Re: Bow Scale

Thanks guys, what I'm finding out when researching scales is there aren't any that are reliable.
