I have a TC firestorm flinter with a 1:48 twist. I currently shoot power belts with ok results but was looking into the heavier 350 grain maxi hunters. Does anyone have any suggestions on powder charges or this choice of round? Thanks in advance.
Give the 395 grain Hornady Great Plains bullets a try. I haven't met a TC gun that didn't like them (I know my 3 do!) What grain power belts are you using? If you're shooting the 245s, try the 295s, if it's the 295s, try the 348s. I like the hollow points better as they are just as accurate as the aero tips but will expand better at flintlock velocities where the aero tip is actually designed to retard expansion.
The T/C Maxi Hunters work well in my .54 BUT I always had good results with the 250gr T/C Shockwaves in my Firestorm.
I use 80gr of 2f in my 50's and 80gr 3F in my 54.
