Good moderately priced flinter?

I am going to buy a new flinter for this season. I am looking for a smaller one, priced around 300 to 400, any suggestions?

Re: Good moderately priced flinter?

Smaller as in? smaller caliber, shorter, lighter,

Some of the traditions guns sell in that ball park.

I'd recommend a Lyman, but I don't even know what they are running cost wise.

There are alot of used guns out there, but you have to be careful in inspecting them.

For that kind of money, you could get first rate parts and build a plain stripped down rifle for hunting.
