My first flinter deer!!!

Went out at about 830 today with my dad(73) to public land. Been there several times but no luck so far. Well, at about 4pm two doe come crashing in from down wind of me then stop. One was about 10 yards but behind a big oak. She starts to run and I put the front sight on her and "fisssss". Thats right, my first flash in the pan but no boom. I think I made up a few new curse words after that.

So at about out 515pm I see movement at about 80 yards up wind. I grab the binos and make sure its a doe. She is headind right toward me so i let her keep coming. She turns to her left (my right) and gives me a nice broad side shot at 55 yards. I squeeze one off and she bolts. She goes about 60 yards or so in a horse shoe pattern and goes down. I grab my phone and call my dad, man am I pumped!!! Five years of hunting with the flinter with my dad on this land and finally!!!

55 yards, 245 grn buffalo ballet, 90 grains of FF, FFFF in the pan, from my TC Firestorm.

With my dad and son

With my daughter

Re: My first flintet deer!!!

Thanks guys! The kids were very excited when they heard. My daughter was at dance practice (Irish Step) thats why she is in a different pic. She can't wait until next yeat when she is 9 and can go out with a MY tag for squirels, and maybe deer!
