Percussion Cap Question

Maybe one of you could plesae help...

I'm getting my gear ready for Sat. I'll be carrying my .50 Cal. Lyman Trade Rifle. I noticed that I have the following percussion caps...

Remington No. 11
and
CCI No. 10

What is the difference and what would be the better of the two or the correct caps to use.

Thanks!

Re: Percussion Cap Question

your Lyman is made for No 11's. A fair number of Italian made reproduction revolvers use No 10's. No 10;s are slightly smaller in size.

Re: Percussion Cap Question

The No. 10 cap is normally used for cap-and-ball revolvers. The No. 11 cap has been dimensionally shaped to fit more snugly on nipples.
