Turkey season

Anyone else taking their smoothbore out for spring gobblers? I just ordered some TSS for mine to try out.

I bought Browning 3", 1 1/2 oz., 20 gauge ammo, with buffered #7 & #9 shot mixed. I will load 70 gr. of 2F, put a over the powder wad down and then put the wad and shot from the shell down the barrel and top it off with a over the shot card and then see how it patterns at 35 yards.

I'll be hunting with my 62 cal smoothbore if I happen to get one with the shotgun first. Chasing the triple trophy this year so I'm going to carry my 870 then the flintlock if I am lucky.

I'll take it! 35 yards, 70 gr, 2f, 1/8" over powder wad, AA plastic 20 gauge wad, 1 1/2 oz. of #7&#9 TSS mix, 2 over shot cards.

The "buffer" was mixed in the shell already. I tried shooting it today with the wad from the shell and the pattern wasn't near as good as the standard yellow AA wad. 35 yards really is farther than I want to shoot, I would like to keep it under 30. I may try one more this week with 2 oz. of shot, that would really fill in the gaps, but its pretty brutal on the butt end!
