1/18 last statewide day

Good luck to those out there. I had been watching the forecast deciding whether to get up and go or not. I decided to not go based on the weather. Here in SW Pa they called for a dusting of snow early, which we got, then changing to rain by 9:00, which happened. It is pouring here right now so looks like I made the right decision.

Looks like north and northeastern parts of the state should have mostly snow.

Weather sure has sucked in this corner of the state. I only made it out for two flintlock hunts as we have had rain almost every Saturday.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

I thought it was the 20th as well but may not be statewide. I’ve had a few chances this weekend but dealing with some leg/back issues from a 5 yo accident that popped up without warning. The hills are steep and debated hard at 5am. A slightly younger me would have pushed it but I’ve realized hospitals aren’t so fun.

Very messy in my part of Crawford now. Started out as freezing rain turned to snow for a bit and has now changed back to a freezing rain/sleet mix. I took a walk out back while it was snowing to pull camera cards didnít see anything or any fresh tracks. Camera showed a couple of fawns headed towards the bedding area around 5:30 am. I may sit in a blind this afternoon for couple of hours.

Been trying to find someone interested in putting on deer drives and no one interested in venturing out today. Weather is horrible here with heavy rain and going to be hard to keep pan powder dry today. But I still plan on getting out this afternoon.

The older I get the better I was.

Drove up to the SGL this morning knowing the snow was coming and sat till 8:30 when it started down heavy.Nothing moved.I was pretty much a snowman by the time I got to the car.Debated on hanging out till the window of clear skies came, caution prevailed due to a 40 mile drive and mixed rain and sleet on the way so I went home.Figured this was going to ruin my day.Hope to try again Monday.

Not that I had plans to go out today, but today is by far the worst day weather wise all season. Snow this am followed by sleet and freezing rain and now intermittent snow again.
