Our Colorado hunt results

I took this big boy at 60 yards using my Traditions St.Louis Hawken .50cal kit gun shooting 80gr 2fg gearhart-owen, .490" round ball and .020" patch. He went 40 yards with an easy to follow blood trail. Oh yeah, and dressed traditional, including soft soled mocs!

My girl friend, new to hunting ( this was the time first she ever went out in the field hunting ) did one ---- of a job tracking the buck for me. She was super excited.

My dad, shooting a Traditions St.Louis Hawken .50cal that I built for him used 70gr 3fg Shutzen,. 490 round ball and a .020" patch. His shot was 70 yards which dropped her on the spot.

My brother shooting a CVA Hawken .54cal, 80gr Pyrodex P, .530" round ball and a .020" patch. He took her at 65-70 yards with a 50 yard recovery and easy blood trail. She was a BIG doe.
