Sheshequin woodswalk

Anyone shot the Shehequin woodswalk near Trout Run north of Williamsport? Thinking of running up there this Sunday to check it out

They are a great bunch of people and the club is top notch. I've shot paper there many times, never disappointed with the club. Never shot the woodswalk so I cant speak from experience. I''ll bet it's a good one based on the other shoots.

Fun little shoot. Great group of people. Was I think 10 shooters or so. It was more of a novelty shoot and not the woods walk I expected. Three different paper target (5 shots each) along with a few different steel (5 turkey silhouettes and a cpl gongs) . About 25 shots in all.

I took 3rd place even with one bad set of shots at 50 yds. No idea what happened there as the other sets of shots were not bad. Not up to my normal speed, but not bad for not having shot since mid March. Passed on the money prize and took a Lee .445 mold from choice of "blanket" prizes. If I am back in the area again when they have a shoot (2nd Sun of month), would do it again for the fun

There is another one next weekend a little farther north. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...16,17, and 18. Whispering Pines in Cherry Flats. Woods walk... One hawk throw, a timed flint and steel fire start, and about 10 clangers of various designs, sizes and distances including a running bear. All in a woods setting. They do the timed fire start as a scoring point, but also use the time as a tie breaker if one is needed.

They will also have a 3D primitive archery course in a woods setting. A hawk and knife woods walk. BP cartridge and a full slate of PRB paper target matches at 25, 50 and 100 yards. Junior and Ladies matches. Smooth bore included.

They have been getting about 75-100 camps, and 125 (+-) shooters. Quite a few walk-in day shooters. They don't require primitive clothing to shoot, or just visit. A good number of trade blankets.

Looking for more closer to home. Just happened to be up that way for another reason and took my shooting stuff along.

They also did hawk, knife throwing and fire starting. I wanted to do the fire starting but had to start heading back south. The kids there were having fun with that though
