? for those who have purchased stocks from Pecatonica river?

I'm getting close to ordering the stock for my next build. I have narrowed down my choices to an Andrew Verner or Tennessee classic stock. Both are available in left hand which is what I need. I'm leaning heavily toward the A. Verner as I am not a big fan of curved butt plates. Anyway, their website mentions how much is inletted into their stocks. They make it appear as if the lock barrel, ramrod channel, sideplate, etc are already inletted. My question is, can I order a stock with only the barrel and ramrod channel inletted? I want to inlet the lock, sideplate, tang, and trigger myself. I would think I should since how are they to know what lock I may want to use, etc.....I'd ask them directly, but they're obviously not open right now.

BB, have you ever made the trip up the river to Lewisburg for the Artisan Show in Feb? I bet you could find something to your liking and handle it before walking out with it....the show's like 5 weeks away.

Just a thought.

North of Harrisburg, along Rt 15. I'm near Hamburg (Cabela's). I go up to Danville and hit I-80 and I get to the Lewisburg in about 2 hours.

If memory serves, you're in the Lancaster area? You'd have about the same drive, I'd think, maybe a smidge less time-wise. Google the show (18th Century Artisan's Show), there's a site with all the info.

Not sure I can get there but the Artisan Show looks really interesting. Thanks for the link! Maybe next year.

It'll soon be time for the annual HPA thread on who's going to the show. There's usually a few of us there.

Unlike prior years, I'm not there to get anything specific, just go drool. If there's a good day to meet a bunch of HPA folks, maybe have lunch in the restaurant and --...that'd work for me.

Probably in a couple weeks, I'll post the thread. Or someone will. I doesn't get forgotten, lol.

Yes, you can order a stock from PR without the extra inletting. The stock will be pre-carved on the outside, barrel channel and ramrod hole done. You can specify the barrel inlet octagon size and ramrod hole diameter.

My last two stocks I ordered from PR. Told him I did not want lock and side plate inletted. Fore end was precarved but I did not ask for it not to be. I will in the future. You can call and ask him. Seemed like a nice guy and worked with me on LOP and other things I did request.

I and my wife will be at the Artisans fair. Have been the last couple years. We go a little early and have breakfast in the restaurant first
