1/8/18 2D Lyman Deerstalker
i have harvested many many deer in my 27 yrs of hunting. But never have i killed one using a flintlock.
Until last night!
Mainly because i usually am tagged out by then or would try to be tagged out to avoid the frustration that
sometimes goes with hunting with a flintlock. this year i wanted to save a tag to try for late season success.
last night between thunderstorms, i see this one in a cut corn about 150 yds away, i closed the gap thanks to
a pine row, to about 70 yds. tucked up in a pine, resting on a semi stable branch, pull the trigger, psssss-nothing!
all too familiar sound. loaded more powder, settled again. pssss-BOOM
dropped in its tracks. front shoulder, took out top of both lungs.
Needless to say i was pretty excited!
