Bald Eagle State Park

Hey everyone, I live in Mill Hall, and work in Milesburg. I drive rt 150 every day. See deer regularly all along the State Park area. I got a map from DCNR, and know roughly where I am allowed to hunt. Just looking to see if anyone else has hunted flintlock season there and what kinda luck they may have had. Not trying to nose in and take other people's spots. Just looking for insite. Thinking I may stop a couple days a week on my way home from work.

It’s a state park. No one has any more of a “claim” on it than you do-just get in there and scout while you hunt-who knows- it might be your lucky day!!

I’ve lived in Howard my entire life. I can vouch that there are plenty of deer, however also plenty of cover. Very nice areas to drive if you’re interested?

Most of the areas around the lake that I am familiar with(howard nursery/upper greens run area) are pretty thick, although I'm sure there are some openings. Seems like some trails were cut through some of the thicker areas earlier this fall. I believe that some of the areas are Army Corp. land, but are open to hunting. I think there is gamelands over near Mount Eagle too.

Yeah you can pretty much hunt everywhere, some areas are very very thick, but there are some nice deer running around in there.

Saturday evening hunted the woods between 150 and Hunters Run Cove, near the field that you can see the cut. Didn't see anything. Tonight I was up by the water tank and saw three doe but was to thick to get a good shot
