Last day success
So last year it was "first" day success, the year before was "first Saturday" success, this year it took a little longer and pushed it to the last hour taking this buck at 4:10 on the last day.
He came in following close behind a doe and she spotted me crouching low and stopped. He stopped just over 40 yds out with his head and body behind two trees and only a few inches of shoulder showing. The flint drove the shot through his heart and he was dead on his feet as he stumbled about 30 yards or so bouncing off trees as he went.
I am very fortunate that all the possible outcomes swayed in my favor and I was able to harvest him in nearly the same spot as the last two flinter bucks, three in a row!
I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
