new rifle

just ordered parts for a new rifle project. its another Christians springs. swamped "D" weight .54 cal., extra fancy maple stock and steel hardware. my other .62 cal. has brass and I wanted to change it up a bit. I also want to add some carving ect. to this one. it should be a good extra/back up gun with the .62. the only other "PA legal" rifle I have is a .45 cal. that i'am probably going to sell. good winter project.

When the weather gets nasty, there's no better way to while away the long days than to work on a muzzleloader project. I would look forward to working on mine. I think I've got one or two more builds in me yet. I'd like to build another smoothbore, a long barreled fowler, and the other I'd like to build will be a squirrel rifle. Someday.

Looks like a nice piece of maple!

Any reason on the D weight barrel? Just curious...some guys like the weight or need the barrel dimensions for a particular rifle...
