Smoothbore patterning-Shot Samples

I recently acquired a 16 ga. smoothbore and was wondering if anyone could tell me where I can get shot in smaller quantities (than 25 lb bags) until I come up with the load I would like to settle on for turkeys.

Take the time to show some respect for the animals we hunt

Depending what you are looking for, you can always gut a shotgun shell. Even if you had to buy shells to gut, it's cheaper than having to buy numerous bags of shot to test a gun and pay shipping on it.

I only know of one place, Ballistic Products, and that's for 10 lb of copper plated. It ain't cheap though. Would be cheaper to buy a 25 lb bag of magnum shot. Don't know of anyone that sells smaller quantities of lead shot. If you were closer to me, I'd probably part with some of my #5 or #6

Your too far from Dixon's, but they sell smaller bags. I recently cut open shells with a utility knife to get several ounces.

Here's Ballistic Prod page hot link

Steel Shot #TT (10 lb./bag)-Ballistic Products

This will get you to the shot shell page. Research the site for other items; cards, wads, and such.
