December 30th - Day 5 Flintlock

Good luck to everyone heading out this am and later today.

I hope to get out this afternooon but am getting high winds again, might try a still hunt since my ground is still pretty wet.

Be safe and get home safe.

Heading out in a few minutes. Gonna do a full day of still hunting. Ground is wet, gonna get windy so my noise will be covered up even more plus some of my movement. Good luck to anyone going out and be safe.

On a four day run of 12 hr night shifts here, so won't be out until Monday pm. Today would be an awesome day here with a fresh 4-5" of snow and whipping wind. Good luck to all going out!

Heading out shortly to still hunt the rest of the day. 5-6 inches on the ground and winds are ripping. Lake effect bands pushing through. Gonna hit the pines. Supposedly another 4-6 inches on the way. Great day to slowly move through the pines.

Heading out this afternoon. Worked late again last night, and was just too tired to roll out of bed this morning. Going to sit in my woods stand and watch the valley today. They've abandoned the field I normally hunt over already.

In our area I'm starting to think they began to do "winter yard up".

Just got back in a little while ago. I had 6 come in about 70 yards out but no shot provided shortly after 9. Probably good they didn't offer a shot because the gun wouldn't go off when I tried to shoot it before heading home. I sat through a couple good snow squalls that must have got on the powder. So I'll take it apart and clean it up real good before heading out tomorrow, probably afternoon. Good luck all.

Did not see anything while sitting this morning or while sneaking around this afternoon. One good thing, only tracks I've seen are around my stand. Just not there when i am. Some REAL fresh ones going in this afternoon. Think I spooked them pulling into the parking spot. Tracks went right past my tree. Walked all around the area this afternoon, but still only tracks seen are in the area where I have been sitting. Back out in the morning
