I have a F/Storm I hunt with and only used Goex BP and PRB,s.Have any of you all used the pellets with PRB,s?I hear alot of people using them with conicals and sabots but not with PRB,s.I picked some Pyrodex 50/50 pellets up at Wal-Mart cause it was bein discounted and figured I,d try it.
The pellets are for in line muzzys with a primer to light them off, I use triple seven with some 4f down the barrel first and get good ignition , this may work with pellets but i never tried them ! I use the triple seven because it burns much cleaner .
My brother has a firestorm, and just uses two triple seven pellets. He does however use a bullet with a sabot. It goes off just as fast as my Lyman GPR with goex, and it shoots lights out. It works for him.
I don't know about the Firestorm, but my lyman deerstalker has a powder chamber that is much smaller than a powder pellet, so it wouldn't seat to begin with. Ive had a caplock for over thirty years that used pyrodex rs, and the only benifit was you could shoot about all day without fouling buildup. I think blackpowder is much easyer when it comes time to clean.
To my knowledge, the Firestorm is the first f/lock designed to be able to shoot the pellets as a option.I could have bought the 777 pellets too but their ignition is supposed to be too poor in the F/storm.Traditions PA Pellet is also a f/lock rifle now designed to be able to handle the pellets. Both T/C and Traditions only recommend the Pyrodex pellets.
