If you could have only one?

If you could have only one which do you think would be the biggest improvement for your T/C Renegade 50 cal.

1. A new L&R lock for your flintlock?
2. A new Green Mountain 1:28 twist barrel?

Take you kids hunting and you will never have to hunt for your kids.

Re: If you could have only one?

I would go with the lock. A faster lock will do wonders on shooting accuracy. When the igniting pan and main charge seem almost instantaneous, the flinch is after the shot!

And the barrel you have will shoot PRB, Maxi's or Hornady PA conicals better than You!

Re: If you could have only one?

L&R lock and a Chamber's White Lightnin touch hole liner.

Unless you have a very strong desire for the barrel...in that case, if you know of somewhere to buy one, and REALLY want one I'd buy it now because they are no longer being made I don't think...

The lock and liner are a huge upgrade...

Re: If you could have only one?

Lock and white lightning vent liner.

The tc barrel is no hindrance. The biggest noticeable improvements will come from the lock/vent liner.

Re: If you could have only one?

Just be careful inletting it...there isn't much that needs removed...I made the mistake of thinking I could use a dremel lol...that thing ate more wood than needed with a quick light touch...

Not a difficult job to get it in...I used candle soot to smoke the lock and see where it was contacting the wood...
