Davis deer slayer/L&R lock

I have the combo going in the gun I'm building....

Lock and trigger fit..no contact that I can see where it matters...

I don't have the lock bolted in yet...

But trigger functions fine on its own...lock functions fine when triggered by hand...

Put the lock in and hold it in place and it takes about 100# of pressure to pull l...when the hair trigger is set it fires but won't fire the lock...

Any ideas?? Wondering if it just needs bolted in to work properly... Or if there is something else going on...?

Thanx!

Re: Davis deer slayer/L&R lock

My two thoughts on this is clean up any black left over from inleting, smoke both the lock and trigger then operate both by them selves then check for any wood you missed. Could you have set the trigger too far back and its hitting the sear too close to the trigger pivot point?

Friends don't make promises they can't keep.

Re: Davis deer slayer/L&R lock

It sounds like you need to relive wood from above the tension spring on the set trigger and above the rear trigger assembly to allow it to travel uppward and contact the sear arm.

It could also be the hole for the sear arm needs to be deepened. Sometimes the tip of the sear arm makes contact and it is tough to see down that little hole.

Re: Davis deer slayer/L&R lock

Thanx guys!

I think long hunter might be right....thinking about it after he said it...the instructions said to remove wood...my stock is not factory...the trigger fit the stock fine so i figured all was well...

I will take a look later!
