Pistol barrels

I received a flinter pistol order for a lady ..
I know the minimal caliber is 50 for deer hunting in PA but is there a barrel length that is also minimal in the books ??
I can't find it anywhere .. PA game commission website sorta stinks ..

Thanks .... Allen

Re: Pistol barrels

A few states have a 12 inch minimum. I would expect that if the pgc were to rewrite their regs to correct existing inconsistencies, a minimum might be adopted.

That is the minimum for rifle. Minimum for a pistol, for hunting, is .50 cal.

Re: Pistol barrels

No rule in Pa. for Pistol Barrel length. 16" Rule is for rifles, Federal law..And are regulated as SBR, Taxed and have to have paperwork as such.

I believe the SBR or 16" rifle rule applies only to modern weapons. Original or "replica" flintlocks and caplocks are exempt, except for leftist states such as New Jersey, New York and Californica.
