Sold my Lyman Deer stalker to my son !

He was interested in getting into Flinters ? My gun was never in the woods and only to the range and fired maybe a dozen times !
I love the boy but i could not just give it to him ! I have retired and funds are tight ? I gave him everything he will need to get started ? From 4f to 2 f and RBs to patches!
Now,i shall sell my Great Plains next? Same thing, never been out of the house and loaded more than 6 times ! I just don't have the desire to do it anymore !
This getting older [censored] ?

I would not feel guilty about this at all. Things change and if you are not using something might as well lighten the load. I have known a lot of guys who simply gave up BP as others did reloading or fishing or even going to church. As for selling to your son don't guilt yourself my brother; money is thicker than blood and it's all in the family anyhow.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Re: Sold my Lyman Deer stalker to my son !

My older son was up to visit,160 miles one way,and took the Deer Stalker to his younger brother . This gun is as new,and still stored in it original box, with all the papers !
The big brother showed the little one how to put it together so as he knew how to hook the breech into the rear and install the wedge?
That evening i got a phone call fro little brother ?
" DAD",he says,"Are you sure that's all you wanted for this gun ?" "Its so nice i don't know if i want to take it into the woods !"
He has shot flinters with his friends and knows how load them? His friends all have guns with the black plastic stocks,so,this Lyman, with its Walnut stock, really impressed him ? He went on and on how happy he was with the gun !
He sure knows how to make Dad fell good !
