Traditions keystone hunter

Found a new Traditions Keystone Hunter in .50 cal for $450. Is this a good price? Hows the quality and accuracy? Id mostly like to shoot patch and round ball. Is the 1/48 twist good for patch and round ball? I have a few buddys who hunt with different flintlocks so i will be hitting the range with them. Id like to get a flint lock this spring and practice before the season. Any info would be helpfull thanks.

Watch your top knot.

My Deerstalker has the 1/48 twist and it shoots well with PRB. As to the rest of the gun, I have no experience with that model so I can't help you too much there. A 1/48 is a good middle of the road barrel for both PRB and bullet-style projectiles as far as I understand it. Good luck with it whatever you decide to do!

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

I think the model you have is a Pa Pellet in wood with engraving on the butt stock.I bought one of these from MaGees Optics when they came out a couple years ago and mine is still new in box.Mine is the Pa Pellet and that is a good price for this collectible if it is the same as mine cause they were numbered and only made so many.
