1/13/16 Middlecreek

Wasn't gonna go but changed my mind to see if I can fill at least 1 tag this year.
Anyone else going in?

There is a lot of us guys that wished we got picked ! I think guys who get picked and don't show without an emergency should not be allowed to apply the following year ! Jmo
It's not like geese where there are no shows , they just don't give it to any one else!

Re: 1/13/16 Middlecreek

Well, when you apply and if you use your tags how could you go? I was in last years 2nd hunt, i saw a 25lb button buck. Had a guy asking if i had one of the ten buck tag or knew one that had they found a crippled buck not far. I think there was 3 deer taken that day, one wasn't far from me by cocalico creek.

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......

Do you have to have a antlerless tag for this hunt or can you use your buck/mzl tag to harvest either or?

I always hunted north of the visitors center in that thick swampy valley on a portable tree stand.I was successful every time I was picked to go in there.

Re: 1/13/16 Middlecreek

Aprox 80+ hunters were there.
About 1" of snow,17 degrees it was looking good.
Announced in the meeting that ALL buck tag holders could shoot a buck.
Started hunting the east side.Noticed only 1 set of tracks.1st shot about 7:20.About a total of 7 shots till 10:00.
Went to west side and a guy told me he only heard 2 shots all morning.
Checked out at 12:00 and was told that only 1 deer was taken and it was a 6pt.
I didn't even see rabbit tracks in the snow!
