Slept in this morning and working on my doe I took last night. Probably will head out for an evening hunt later, as it's supposed to be done raining here soon.

Re: Day 3 Flintlock Season

Woke up and heard the rain on the roof of the house. Figured it is early in the season and I still got time. Possibly head in out in the afternoon. Good luck

Re: Day 3 Flintlock Season

Just checked into the motel in 2f. Drizzling now and supposed to continue tomorrow. Though motel ownr says they are calling for it to possibly change to snow. Will see. Hitting the woods either way in the morning

Re: Day 3 Flintlock Season

Was out from 3ish to about dark and saw nothing on 2 "mini" drives and some still hunting in the thick stuff. Back at it on Thursday.

Re: Day 3 Flintlock Season

This was my first day out with the smoke-pole. We waited until all the drizzle stopped, and we were on post by 2:00 in one of my Allegheny Co honey-holes. I had four nice doe out in front of me for about 30mts. I didn't get a doe tag, and I wasn't ready to punch my ticket this early in the season, so I just enjoyed watching them. My 16yr old son had a couple come past him, and I was surprised at his restraint as he has a 2B doe tag. One was only 25-30 feet from him broadside. In all, after a bunch of crummy rainy days to start the season, we had a great afternoon. We'll be back out tomorrow after a morning doctor appointment...
