Percussion to flint gunsmith

I need a gunsmith to convert a Green Mountain drop-in percussion barrel to flint ignition. I have the proper flint plug. I want to use it as a longer switch barrel on my flint .54 Lyman Deerstalker. Looks like everything would line up right but I need a competent gunsmith who has done this kind of work. It needs to be timed right because the lugs, sights and under rib is already on the barrel.

Anyone have any people to recommend?

Re: Percussion to flint gunsmith

I have seen this topic come up before from time to time and it always is cheaper and better to just by another rifle when you are talkin factory production guns.

Re: Percussion to flint gunsmith

If it is a simple breech plug swap out, take it to Dixons. They have the proper size breech plug wrenches that grab ALL sides of the breech plug.
If you are talking converting a RIFLE from perc. to flint, buy another gun.

The answers to all of life's questions are found in the Bible!
