Any ideas on a good starter gun for a women.Something as light weight as possible, and reliable.I have .50 cal.T/C Renegade with a Green mtn. brl. that was shortened to save on weight. Not sure what is really out there anymore?

Lyman Deerstalker is a smaller gun but the weight is 8-10 lbs
If you are close to a shop that have different brands would be your best bet to look and feel them.

Another vote for the Lyman Deerstalker. Easy to handle and they are usually excellent shooters!

Maybe a TC PA Hunter Carbine, if you can find one.

Another would be a Pedersoli Country Hunter.

Re: Flinter for a female hunter

Jim Chambers makes one called a little feller, but getting one before this season could be difficult and his rifles are not as cheap as production rifles.

This one weighs 7 lbs and is on sale at cabelas, not sure about length of pull. In stock at Hamburg store and limited stock at Wheeling WV store. You could have it shipped if you can't get to a store. Just noticed under Q&A it says length of pull is 13.5".

I have an older Traditions Deerstalker, short and light. It goes off decent and is fairly accurate. You can usually find used ones at a good Price too.I`m saving it for My. ahhh, Golden Years !!

I sure wish TC would have made the Seneca and Cherokee in flinters!
