First Flintlock Deer

Shot my first flintlock deer Saturday evening on SGL in 5C. Only a BB, but in a lot of ways more of an accomplishment to me than most of the bucks I shot. I can't get over what a .54 PRB over 75 grains of 2F can do, it was devastating. Lights out and straight down. Got to show the 16 yo old how to skin and quarter too. The only thing that could have made it better is if he shot it, but he was too sore from having his wisdom teeth out last Wednesday. The in line is getting sold.

Re: First Flintlock Deer

welcome to the cult wstrouse. Just took my second one on saturday. .490 patched round ball over 80 grains of 2f. Shot her at 80yrds she only made it 50 yrds.

If an inline is just like a flintlock why don't you get a flintlock so you can hunt more seasons?

Bob1961. Looking to do a build next winter. Did you go with a kit?
