10 ga with steel shot

Need your help here.
I just aquired a 10 gauge side by side percussion shot gun and want to use it for goose.I know in Pa we have to use steel shot. My question is do I need to use a plastic sleeve or can I just load as I would any other BP gun. It also has removable chokes. Don't know if that makes a differance.

Re: 10 ga with steel shot

I would use a plastic wad to protect the barrel if using steel or other non-toxic shot.
When I use lead no wad is used.
