Getz barrels

Does anyone have any experience with Getz barrels in Beaverton, PA and would care to offer an opinion on their quality and accuracy? I hear that Jim Chambers uses them for his guns

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Re: Getz barrels

I have had two guns with Getz barrels, and highly recommend them. Top of the line in my opinion!

Re: Getz barrels

Actually Chambers uses Rice, Long Hammock and W E Rayl barrels.
They all come from Buckeye barrels in North Carolina
Getz makes very good barrels as well as the ones listed above.
Personally I like Rice barrels. Never had a problem with them and they shoot straight

Re: Getz barrels

I have two Getz barreled guns and both are very accurate. Depending on what you want, might have to wait awhile for a Getz though. Both of mine come through with some sharp edges that ate patches initially. My next gun will probably have a Rice or Rayl barrel just for something different and possibly a smoother bore finish but Getz barrels are of excellent quality and very accurate in my experience.

Re: Getz barrels

Don and son John make a very good barrel. Their specialty is swamped and ringed (also called Queen Ann) style barrels. I have two guns with Getz barrels and I have never had any problems. Most of the barrel makers are very good but its great to support a PA small business!

Re: Getz barrels

Is Long Hammock like the budget barrel of all of these? I see TVM uses them and green mountain.

Re: Getz barrels

Don Getz retired and son John is still making barrels. Yes, they are good but try getting one. Son John fills orders from past customers first. Try Rice, just as good and thay stand behind their word when promising a deliverey date. They even keep a small inventory and/or will tell you what dealer ordered the barrel your looking for, giving you a place to start if you don't want to wait.

Buckeye barrels is great to deal with. It's Barbie Garin, Jim Chambers daughter.
