I Confess: I used a banned substance
I confess. I used a banned substance.
I still have some items. For cold damp weather. Worked wonderfully. Never blew up a TC Hawken. Too late for TC to have any present control over over plastic poly patches. Haha. But a newbie is subject now to conjecture. What do they know. Plastic Poly patches were dangerous. TC said so for decades. Besides the old plastic patches are made no longer.
Used them more when available. Have the evidence. A plastic pouch for plastic poly patches for a .50 caliber TC Hawken.
Stuck in the possibles bag, a bag I've had for forty years. The remaining plastic patches might be at least 30 years old. All available for forbidden use. I don't see TC claiming any apparent ownership of Hawken flintlocks. Only inline these days.
And don't you newbies use any. Us dangerous people have over thirty years experience of safe use. Besides, I generally use diy hommade cloth patch lube, I just made some lube yesterday. I have the pillows ready to be turned into ticing material for round balls. Save the plastic patch for needed hunting purposes. Saved for special purposes. They don't make plastic patches anymore. Neither are the TC flintlocks made anymore either.
I guess I don't have to worry about TC guaranteeing the rifle. My plastic poly patches are ready. And I'll enjoy firing off some old forbidden fruit.
Funny to think the use of plastic patches in inlines probably led to the death of Hawken flintlocks.
