Re: Day 3 December 29

Be honest, been tough thus far... IMO, been too warm. supposed to cool off with highs in the upper 30's, so hopefully will get better.

Trail cams have shown 99% night time activity (either b/c still worked up from rifle season, and or bc it's been 50's during the day and they're laying around being fat and lazy). Either way, hopefully this colder weather will make this coming week better than first two days for me!

Re: Day 3 December 29

Off all week and with this much cooler weather, I'm hoping the day time deer activity picks up.

Out til 10:30 this morning. saw 3........maybe 4 deer. Only one I coulda shot was a buck........nice 1.5 Y.O. half-rack 4 pointer. He'll make a nice one for me in archery '16 !!

Saw a fat doe with a fawn at a whisker over 100 yards. just wasn't feeling that lucky this morning.

Be back out Wed & Thur...........

Re: Day 3 December 29

Out from predawn to 11:30. Experienced a nice sunrise and a few squirrels. In my worst slump ever for seeing deer. Going to a different spot everyday this week until I tag one, run out of spots, or days.

Re: Day 3 December 29

Man, I hunted from 7:30a-3:30p up off Suscon Rd, didn't even see a tail! I hunted different spots; near Lake Aleeda, off the fire tower rd and off Suscon Rd.

My GPS said I hiked over 12 miles altogether.

Re: Day 3 December 29

I made it out for the last two hours of light. The neighbor on one side of the hill must have got a new pistol for Christmas and decided to break it in tonight and another neighbor started cutting firewood around 4:00. Only saw one doe at dark running across the hillside.

Re: Day 3 December 29

Walked a gamelands this morning. Saw 4 all does except one I couldn't tell. Of course saw two about 200 yards bedded from truck on the way out. Must have trying to catch some heat off my truck, lol.
Sat back home on private land for last 2 hours and saw nothing.
