Lancaster Co NWTF Chapter hosting 3 Wheelin hunts
The Southern End Strutters Chapter NWTF is seeking participants for three upcoming Wheelin’ Sportsman events in the 2010/2011 hunting season.
On October 16, the Chapter will host a guided early season muzzleloader hunt in Lancaster County, with a rain date of October 23. There will be a
luncheon and a meet-and-greet for hunters, guides, and landowners on the day of the hunt. All hunts will be for doe only on local farms.
The event is open to individuals with permanent physical and/or cognitive disabilities. A current, valid Pennsylvania hunting license and anterless deer permit for WMU 5B is required. If the hunter does not possess proper firearms, Chapter members will provide them for the hunter’s use. Applicants are chosen on a lottery basis and will be teamed with able-bodied partners. Application deadline is September 30, 2010.
The group, which is in its third successful year of helping disabled hunters enjoy outdoor recreation, will also be hosting late-season waterfowl hunts in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as PA Spring gobbler hunts.
Wheelin’ Sportsmen NWTF provides all people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors through local chapter events nationwide, such as hunting, fishing and shooting activities.
