Bear Shotgun Question

After reading the digest it looks like I can remove the plug from my slug gun for bear season. Am I correct with this?

Re: Bear Shotgun Question

no plug is required for either deer or bear when using a shotgun.

Re: Bear Shotgun Question

you only need one shot :-) IMO try not to get in the habbit of taking your plug out.. way to easy to forget to put it back in for turkey or small game an u get checked an dont have a plug in its a very hefty fine. Now if ya have a slug gun an a shotgun your golden no reason to worry. But were only human an we all do stupid stuff..

Re: Bear Shotgun Question

Lots of times bear come by you running. People push them and they run a long ways. One shot may not do it and you don't owe it to an animal to takes it's life until you have put a bullet in it. After that it's your responsibility to kill it. Take your plug out and be ready for any situation that may present itself. Just because you have five loaded doesn't mean you need to fire more than once or even three times. But be prepared for anything.
