Boonie, been seeing bears every trip to camp. One was actually trapped by the game commission near a house that is surrounded by cook forest sp and state forest. Guess you have to take that bear to more of a rural spot??? Anyhow, try the Maple creek area near Vowinkle.
Stoney point and 212 are pretty much the same area. Down muzzte road just google earth 212 or Stoney point and that will give you a good idea. I forget the name of the road. It's a big area lots an lots of laurel and down over the mountain a lot of clear cuts.
If you turn on to FR212 and stay straight on it the whole way until it comes to the end at the locked gate and then walk that road a few miles to the new oil tanks that whole area up in there is considered Stoney Point. Very large area with alot of laurel. Theres a horse trail that runs through the laurel right behind those tanks and will take you the whole way back to the creek you cross right after you start down in the road after the locked gate. It gets pounded real hard but they kill bear every year back there.
