Re: Sigel, pa

I have not heard that rumor and I am not trying to add to that rumor. I'm not real familiar with the area either so I have no idea where that particular road is, but I was on my way back from Farmers Inn and before I got back to the intersection by Truman's store there was a a field on the right behind a small brown ranch house and I saw something back in that field that was too big to be a deer. I was driving and didn't get a good look at it, but it was more the size of an elk. I just passed it off as just some structure or brush cuz I really don't expect there to be elk in that area. It was late evening so I really can't be sure of what I saw, if I was any more certain it had been an elk I would have def turned around to get a second look, but elk was the first thing that popped on my head.

So anyways, I can't verify that rumor, but I guess I can just be mad that I didn't turn around for a second look now that I see something about it on here. Haha

There was one bull elk that moved out of the traditional range that has been hanging around Spring Creek Road but so far it has been mostly on the Hallton/Shanley Hill side of Spring Creek Road. I have not herd of him moving across to the west side of Route 949 but I guess he could if he decided to.

So far it appears that the one bull is all that moved into the area. It is unknown if he is going to stay in the area or if he is going to move again in his quest for a harem of cows. He might even go back to the traditional range once he figures out that is the only place he is going to find cows.

Re: Sigel, pa

You may end up finding him trying to break in to the elk farm on 949 to get at the cows!

Re: Sigel, pa

On my way to work one early morning about sunrise a couple weeks ago I saw what I thought was an elk crossing 949 just past Springcreek road intersection towards Dutch Hill. I thought I was seeing things... I told a couple guys at work, they thought I was nuts. Makes sense now.

Buff, if you get any good information on where he is please let both me and Roger know. I know they want to try to keep track of this guy so they can try to get a new collar on him.
