Re: Elk Draw

Does the game commission notify the people drawn? I have put in for the drawing the last few years but never knew how drawn hunters were notified.

Re: Elk Draw

When I was drawn I happen to find it in a news paper on line the day it was drawn. That being said if you get drawn most likey you will get calls from guides and than a paper from the Pgc in a week. Or you can just watch the webcast online or you most likey will be able to fine it on here some where as there are a few people that take down names and post them.

Re: Elk Draw

Sure they will notify you. They will send a packet with a dvd, guide list, elk zone maps and articles on the PA elk program, flagging tape you need to use to mark the kill site from the closest road, blood tubes, tissue sample bags and instructions on how to use them. They will also send a sheet that you use to certify that you have read and understand the materials sent and your actual hunting license application.

Re: Elk Draw

The year that I received a tag we had to go to a class, I guess they don't do that any more.
They PGC will make sure that you know if you are luckey enough to get a tag.
Good luck!

Re: Elk Draw

with that price and less than 2 months to secure money and time off, i wish they would somehow come up with a way to draw for the next fall with your current license so you can plan your hunt, save money, and learn about elk hunting in pa while your not paniking about the big trip. i suppose its all part of the excitment of the hunt but it sure would be nice to be able to plan it better
