Bear Hunting 4B

I just got a camp up in the tuscarora state forest near Blain and was wondering how the bear hunting is and if anyone has any info on hunting up there.

I'm only after the dumb ones, somebody else can try to get all the smart ones!

Gotta....I think you're in luck. My brother saw a bear not too long ago when camping at Fowler's Hollow SP. And from the GC report, they get a fair number in the Tuscarora SF in western Perry Co., for as small an area as it is. If you do some scouting, I think you've definitely got a chance. Good luck, you're in one of my favorite parts of PA.

Re: Bear Hunting 4B

I hunt on top of the tusc. mountain on the perry side. I saw one bear 2 years ago and just didn't get a shot. now last year there was no food on top of the mountain so most of the bears shot were close to the bottom where the corn was still standing. There there it's just a matter of finding if there is enough food on the mountain for them to be there on opening morning, if not there gonna be down low in the farmland.
