Who's using a 375

Yes, yes I know, don't need it and you can kill a bear with a 30-30, 270, etc, etc,.Just wondering who's using the big boomers just because they have one.

I shoot a #1 .375 for whitetails occasionally. No meat damage at all, just a 3/8" hole and dead deer.

Re: Who's using a 375

My outfitter friend says for bear he likes to use a "mouse gun"...that is a gun with a hole big enough for a mouse to crawl into. 35 is my largest caliber but might look to get something bigger.... just because.

Re: Who's using a 375

I carry a .375 Weatherby and have been glad, in the past, that I did.

It's actually one of my lighter sporters and is no burden at all to lug through the crap I gotta lug it through, being primarily a full-time driver in our crew.

Re: Who's using a 375

I did carry a Win. Model 70 in 375 H&H but have switched to a Weatherby Mark V Stainless in 340 Weatherby Mag. The 340 hits like a 375 H&H and shoots as flat as 270 Win.

I've shot a couple bears with 225 gr Accubond from my .35 Whelen. Works great.
