Re: bald eagle SF bear hunting

I have seen bear in all the areas you mentioned. You should find sign while checking those places. I have a friend who use to have a camp in Poe Valley and he always saw bear near his camp. Panther Run is on the back side of Poe Valley and there is only I gated road in there. I have been hearing from loggers and fire wood cutters that acorns are going to be good this year. I have only hunted bear two times so I'm not much help. If I hear of any fresh sightings I'll pass them on to you.

Re: bald eagle SF bear hunting

Bald eagle sf has a very healthy bear population. The areas you listed are decent. If you find the food you should be into the bear as well.

You can't get em from the couch.

Re: bald eagle SF bear hunting

Ironically one of the biggest bear ive ever seen was near R.B winter state park (bald eagle state forest)....he crossed the road in front of me, while driving home from hunting in lycoming county...lol...i'm beginning to wonder why i drive farther north..clinton,lycoming, tioga ect...i drive across mile after mile of mts....getting there..lol..guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...but yea i'll be somewhere in the bald eagle or tuscarora state forest this year.

Re: bald eagle SF bear hunting

Bald Eagle is just fine, problem is havent had much mast past two years, but they eat other things. Plus less pressure, it can be a big rocky laurelly thick nasty place which keeps bears in and hunters out!

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......
