New Brunswick

Hey guys, just got back from NB, we hunted with Halfway Inn Outfitters on 108 about 50 miles from Plasterock. Had a great trip, 6 of us went up and we got 4 bears. Should have killed 5 by Tuesday evening! One guy only saw 1 bear on the trip and that was in the truck going to his stand. Everyone else saw bears and had opportunities to kill bears. I took my new flintlock and on Monday evening missed one! So Tuesday morning I shot at camp and everything was great, Tuesday evening I missed another bear! No idea what was going on, but took the guides rifle out after that and I killed the last bear of the hunt in a thunderstorm on Friday evening at dark. He was actually standing directly under the stand when I saw him and put one right straight down between the shoulder blades. The guides gun was a 1943 7.62x54 Russian sniper rifle! Did quite the job on him. We saw lots of moose and snowshoes, a few deer and billions of flies and mosquitoes. Btw Thermacells DO NOT repel black flies or deer flies! After the first night I used my Avon skin so soft and didn't get bit the rest of the week.
Had no problems at the boarder either way, 18 hours we drove straight through to get home and brought 16 lobsters back and had a lobster feed on Sunday evening to end the trip!
Found out on the way home Saturday evening that I drew a Maine Moose tag for this September, so i'll be headed back up in 2 months!
Thanks for looking!

Re: New Brunswick

My Uncle and I drove past that place whenever we went up this past spring to Big Paw Outfitters. We drove Route 108 the whole way from Plaster Rock to Renous which is I believe 87 miles of nothing. Well, You were there, LOL..You know.

Looks like ya had a great time up there. Congrats on the bear!

I often wonder,Why do people get mad, when you tell them the truth?

Re: New Brunswick

Great pics. Especially the moose . I use Skin so soft and vinegar mixture on my horses to keep flies at bay. The stuff works!
